Powered by Twitter Tools The weigh in this week wasn’t what I was hoping for – up a few pounds over the last several weeks. Still dealing too much with stress and leading to some poor food choices despite keeping the gym time up. I really think at this level of workouts weight loss follows that 80/20 rule. 80% of the success comes from the diet. The resistance training and cardio work is great for my fitness but accounts for usually less than a 1000 calories of extra burn. I think you’d need to be in the gym 4-6 hours a day to see it start to break that 80/20 rule and then maybe approach 50/50. So while I’ve kept my fitness up with the 20%, my lackluster work on the 80% (diet) has stalled me out. I’m going to make a concentrated effort to get back to tracking EVERYTHING this week and see how it goes.
In other news my trainer at my home gym got a huge promotion, along with a transfer to a gym on the other side of town. I’m really going to miss him – Tyrell is a great trainer and I always enjoyed our chats while he worked me into the ground. So today was the first day with my new trainer, Jim. Nice guy – did a lot of things different than Tyrell. Found myself more out of breath at times certainly with him, although looking at my calorie burn it doesn’t seem too much different.
Could be as good as that last week. I weighed in a day late – but about 6 lbs down – won’t complain too much about that. |
