Monday Weigh In 08-30-2010

Well the foot is probably at 80% now and I’ve been able to really push a few workouts this week to new levels.

My time on the treadmill I’ve started using an 8 degree (or is it percent) incline as my base, and work up through 10, 12.5 and finally full incline of 15 at the end of the time.   Heck today I was doing small sprints at the incline of 15 – felt awesome.

Current Weight 275.6

Weight lost this week: 4.6 lbs

Total Weight Lost: 139.4

Just shy of a 140 lbs lost.   If I wasn’t doing it myself I’d have a hard time believing it can be done.

Monday Weigh In 08-23-2010

Well it’s been a while since I’ve updated this.

Don’t know why, but this last month it’s been hard to stay on track.   While the body learns and responds to change quickly, the mind on the other hand occasionally fights and resists.   Sometimes I still feel like that 415 pound version of myself with no hope despite the amazing progress I’ve made.

After reach 285 a few weeks back I gained two pounds the next week, and then held steady the week after that.   About four week with no measurable weight lost.

It’s hard to push through that and not loose sight of the long term goals.

This week.

280.2

Just about 7 lbs down.   Total lost 135

Really hoping to see the 270′s next week.

It’s funny.

It was just January that I was excited about breaking into the 370′s.

“Me” Time

Wednesdays have turned into a “me time” type of day. Still dealing with the foot/ankle injury so am still limited by the speed I can hit my favorite cardio burn, the treadmill.

Last Wednesday was 3 hours of straight cardio – if I can’t sprint I’ll make up the difference on endurance. I can’t even imagine doing 1/3 of that last year.

Today was 4 hours in the gym, although not all of it killer cardio:

Highlights

Rowing: 16,000 meters in 61.20
Walking 65 minutes
half hour on the arm pedals
Climbing up to the 50th floor on the stair master
half hour of not drowning followed by some relaxing time in the whirlpool and steam room.

Back to the home-office in time for lunch. I’m feeling a shrimp taco on the horizon I think.

One of the big switches for me mentally over this year has been thinking of a day like today as selfish “me time” instead of tortured punishment.
